The afternoon of June 11, 2004 a group of
ZGCF members and friends met at Kohl's Ranch and proceeded to the
Original Zane Grey Cabin Site to retrieve some of the stones that were used
for the cabin foundation. For some this was the first time
they
had ever been at the site. For others it was a return trip, both
before and after the Dude Fire. For all it was an emotional
experience and more then one tear was shed. The stones were used
again in the construction of the replica of the Zane Grey Cabin.
